Came Thursday, and that means it's time for another round of free games from the store Epic Games. This week - double, with adaptations for Board game Asmodee Digital Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride.

Carcassonne is a "classic game for the placement of tiles", in which players place different types of tiles, called "upami", to create landscapes and areas are created in medieval France. Tiles are drawn randomly, so the landscapes are constantly changing, when players try to arrange them so that it made sense and gave them the greatest advantage.

Ticket to Ride is also based on the Board game: are you the owner of old-fashioned Railways and must play cards to get the routes and destinations ahead of everyone else. Both games have been known for quite a long time - Carcassonne came to Xbox 360 in 2007, and Ticket to Ride were in XBLA a year later, but the adaptation of the Board game usually look good for many years, and you're not going to win.

The inclusion of the third game in the giveaway this week, Pandemic, was canceled and the game was actually completely removed from Epic Games Store. Epic has not commented on the reason for the removal, but there is speculation that this is due to the ongoing outbreak of the coronavirus.

Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride is free to participate until February 13. Epic will be a bit more modern next week, with a couple more high-profile releases: slow, but excellent medieval RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Aztez, strange, but cool mixture of turn-based strategy and beat-em-up.
