Browse mechanical keyboard A4Tech Bloody B975
Recently we review keyboard Bloody B975 from a frequenter of our "iron" section of the Taiwanese brand A4Tech. So, in order.
Traditionally, let's start with unpacking. The keyboard is Packed in the usual box that looks by today's standards, modest. It shows the device itself, describes its core "chips" and opportunities. Standard, boring set of pictures and symbols. But the content box looks quite decent.
Inside we will find a standard manual with a list of useful information, stand under a palm, extra bright red trim on the stand, two sets of interchangeable WASD keys (orange and transparent) and the so-called Puller or puller of the key caps. And, of course, under all that goodness is located directly to the keyboard itself, the appearance of which is slightly staggering.
We're accustomed to the fact that typically, technology A4Tech looks a little defiantly. Well, you know, all these Windows with lights, sharp corners, perforation, effects of rough grinding, cuts in housing and other tricks of design from which we, frankly, are tired. But Bloody B975 offers the alternative. The device looks not an example of modest. While A4Tech still managed to give this keyboard model's own style. A recognizable image is created by the interesting shape of the key caps and shallow machined lines, which delimit sections of the manipulator. Also on the front panel you can see the logo of the brand Bloody.
On the back side of Bloody B975 there are four slip resistant feet and two retractable stand with slide protection. It should be noted that owing to the quality material of the legs on the surface of the conventional computer Desk, the keyboard is very stiff.
On top of the device is a spiral, protecting part of the body the wire from the kinks. The wire itself is fairly lightweight, thin and soft. In addition, it is protected by a braided covering of synthetic fibres. The quality of weaving has no complaints. Still, it often happens that in the area of the entrance to the housing or the socket thread protective shell sticking out in different directions. Here no such problem.
Bloody B975 housing is made of plastic and steel. Plastic is the base of the device metal plate under the keys. Steel plate weight keyboard, which gives her the ability to firmly stand on the surface. In addition the front part of the manipulator has a special nanocoating that protects the inside from dirt and moisture. Like other mechanical keyboard Bloody model B975 has no indentations under the buttons.
Now about the buttons. The keys of this device uses a new optical-mechanical switches, Light Strike, LIBRA, response time less than 0.2 MS. The appearance of these switches is slightly different from what we're used to seeing in most such devices. The main difference between the Light Strike LIBRA - the cross-stabilizer made of metal. A4Tech claims that due to this simple element engineers were able to eliminate any interference with the keyboard. Unfortunately, to determine the presence of interference on hardware or software level, we can't, but to describe the sensation of pressing the keys easily. Passed through our hands have a lot of mechanical keyboards with different switches, and I must say, pressing these buttons felt a completely new way. First, the key travel is quite short, and secondly, the impact when triggered, soft and quiet, but extremely distinct.
But, as we know, very often a weak point in mechanical keyboards becomes a space. He either leans to the side when pressed, which brings certain discomfort or rattles so that at night the horrible sound is able to Wake the whole house. In Bloody B975 fortunately it is not so. Here A4Tech gets another point for ergonomics and concern about the comfort of the user. The space is equipped with two springs, which reduce the noise from the taps to a minimum and neutralize the so-called "swing effect". But there is this coin and the reverse side. The fact that the feeling of pressing the space bar is very different from the effect that is created when triggering other buttons. At first light it creates dissonance from the difference of tactile sensations, it feels like space resists you, but eventually you get used to it.
The switches LK Libra Orange embedded RGB diodes (where the same without backlight in 2k18?!). About the modes and capabilities of the local siteelements later, and while the diodes themselves and their quality. Traditionally, keyboards A4Tech note the uneven distribution of light under the key caps. In this case again suffered additional characters on buttons, because the diodes located on the top of the switch, and those same icons are closer to the center. And if the bright colors of the illumination is not so critical, then, for example, on a blue or red glow to see the fine print additional characters becomes problematic.
But the quality of the LED elements, there are absolutely no issues. Diodes do not hurt the eyes "blink", also they are quite accurate in color reproduction. However here it should immediately be noted that although the manufacturer and declares support 16.8 million colors and the user can actually choose in the RGB palette has absolutely every shade, essentially the same to see the difference between neighboring 50 shades of blue is unlikely to succeed. Although even if you take into account this point, the number of colors to choose from is really impressive.
B975 Bloody impressive in the number of different modes and their settings for themselves. Initially, the keyboard 10 preset modes of illumination that are assigned to the key combination FN+[digit]:
- FN+1 – Long red
- FN+2 – Long green
- FN+3 Long blue
- FN+4 – Breath of a diagonal rainbow
- FN+5 – Breath of horizontal Radosi
- FN+6 – change the color keys when you click
- FN+7 – Wave when clicking
- FN+8 – meteor
- FN+9 is the play of diagonal rainbow
- FN+0 – Swallow
But if the user don't like these modes, it can use KeyDominator1 and fully personalize the settings to your taste. KeyDominator1 provides access to the editor of the backlight, which you can use to create new animations and color modes. Limits user only his own imagination.
Here in KeyDominator1 you can reassign the media key to add individual buttons for special functions, writing macros and even install additional software for, say, the management is not quite fair play.
The program is convenient and easy, but its appearance leaves much to be desired. It is strange to see how the company A4Tech huge steps forward, with the years making up the gap from top companies, and the design of it and software provision remains somewhere in the past. One need only look at icon and text buttons in the macro editor and everything will become clear. Guys, well this is not the case, an urgent need to change something.
In this it remains only to summarize. Looking at B975 and other new devices A4Tech, it is encouraging to see that the company is trying to follow the path of simple but stylish design. Appearance B975 distinguishes this model from those devices range Bloody, managed to get in our hands. With the quality of materials and workmanship have A4Tech before was all right, but in the case of this keyboard is not a sin to mention a certain sense of security that occur during operation of the manipulator. Also it is useful to highlight the rich possibilities for custom configuration of illumination, which, frankly, a little stunning.
Of the minuses can be identified except that the design of the application KeyDominator1, but it's such a small detail, it's ridiculous for her to pay attention. While on the other hand, if you do not talk about it, the problem itself is not solved. So I hope in future updates A4Tech will modify the appearance of software, for quality devices must comply with and quality.
